Erik Bosgraaf and Concerto Köln build bridges between Baroque and contemporary music.
A creative powerhouse: when the ever-adventurous recorder player Erik Bosgraaf joins forces with the equally exploratory members of Concerto Köln , a special concert experience is virtually guaranteed. Together, they build bridges between yesterday and today, between the Baroque and the modern era.
Their joint programme is aptly named ‘Bridges’, in which Antonio Vivaldi and George Frideric Handel, two of the greatest masters of the Italian concerto, build a bridge from the Baroque to the contemporary Ukrainian composer Victoria Poleva. Georg Philipp Telemann then looks from Italy to France with the French dances from his ‘Overture Suite’, whilst Erik Bosgraaf’s original compositions act as links between the individual movements, ultimately coming together to form a cohesive concert whole.
